LOS ANGELES – Starting next week, Californians will be able to exchange empty wine bottles for cash.
As of January 1, 2024, this includes beverage containers such as boxes, cylinders, or pouches of wine, spirits, wine coolers, or liquor coolers. In addition to wine and spirits, from January 1 it will be possible to exchange juices in large quantities.
Containers smaller than 24 oz. This includes glass, aluminum, plastic or bi-metallic containers (now including wine bottles and wine bottles).

Do you like boxed wine? These Bag-in-Box containers are very important! You can also purchase plastic or multi-layer bags for 25 cents, but only for alcoholic beverages. The use of regular paper cardboard boxes (for alcoholic beverages) and plastic bags is also allowed.
